  • VAN HOUTEN TABBED TO LEAD UNC WILMINGTON SOFTBALL
    Kelly Van Houten, who helped guide one of the nation's most potent offensive attacks at Georgia State, has been named head coach of the UNC Wilmington softball program, Athletic Director Kelly Mehrtens announced Wednesday.

  • HOFSTRA SOFTBALL BOWS OUT OF NCAA TOURNAMENT
    Hofstra defeated Canisius, 5-1, before falling to Arizona, 5-0, ending their season in the NCAA Regionals. Arizona advances from the Hempstead Regional to the Super Regional.

  • HOFSTRA SPLITS A PAIR IN NCAA SOFTBALL REGIONAL ACTION
    Hofstra topped Long Island, 1-0, before falling to Arizona 10-0. The Pride will return to action on Sunday morning against against Long Island or Canisius, with the winner of that game facing Arizona.

  • HOFSTRA SELECTED TO HOST NCAA SOFTBALL REGIONALS
    CAA champion Hofstra was chosen to host an NCAA Softball Championship Regional on May 16-18. The Pride will face Long Island in its opening game. Also in the bracket are 7th-seeded Arizona and Canisius.

  • TOP-SEEDED HOFSTRA EARNS SEVENTH CAA SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
    Top-seeded Hofstra needed two wins to capture the 2008 CAA Softball Championship title and did just that with a 3-1, 11-inning victory and a 3-0 win in regulation on Sunday over third-seeded James Madison. The Pride received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Softball Tournament.
